McMurphy has always been getting in trouble with the law. This time is no exception. He is convicted of the crime of statutory rape. He was with a girl who was fifteen who lied to him about her age. He knew this time was going to be hard time and he didn’t want that. Instead of just serving his time he plotted to try and trick the judge by acting crazy. He succeded. Placed in a mental ward for the criminally insane he had to keep up the pretense of insanity. The head nurse took an immediate dislike to him. With every action one does there is a coincedence. McMurphy pays the ultimate price.
