The story is about how a Harold, a rich guy in his late-teens/early twenties and is interested in death, and how he crosses trails with a 79 year-old woman named Maude, who loves life and living it to the fullest. Harold still lives with his mother, who has no idea about his relashionship with Maude. She sets him up with a few dates from a dating service and none of them go very well.
